Aiko was my first dog, and also my first German Shepherd. I got her in the summer of 1994. Although I wanted ALL of the puppies, she definitely stood out. She was the runt of the litter, but also the only one whose ears stood completely up. Her mom was black and silver, while her father was a solid black longhair, so her markings were quite unique. She caught on quickly to the beach lifestyle and could even ride a long surfboard.
We spent 11 happy years together and had many good memories. She was always loyal, protective, and great with kids. Many people loved her and she made many friends throughout her life. She passed away on December 17, 2005, with the cause of death being unknown.
Fortunately I was able to find another “Aiko” through the rescue (Tessa, who is now 10). Neither will ever be forgotten, and Aiko’s spirit will always remain.
